The Milky Way band and a shooting star over Liberty Farms

The Milky Way Over Liberty Farms, Taken a Few Steps From Where Guests Park.

Liberty Farms sits on 10 open acres outside Wellington, Utah, past the city lights, with mountains on the horizon in every direction. Most of our guests come for a night of rest and a loaf of sourdough. Then they step outside after dinner and look up.

4.84★ across 291 Harvest Hosts reviews, and the sky comes up again and again.

THE SUNSETS EVERYONE WRITES ABOUT

Every evening the light drops behind the mountains and lights up the clouds over open desert. You don't need to drive anywhere for it. Pull a chair out next to your rig. Every one of these was taken by a guest.

THE MILKY WAY, FROM YOUR DOORSTEP

On a clear, moonless night, the Milky Way rises right over the farm. You'll see the band of the galaxy, faint star clouds, and more stars than most people have seen since childhood. We took these one clear night this September, and two are from guests who caught it from their own rigs.

Give your eyes 20 minutes away from screens and white light, and the sky keeps filling in.

THE NIGHT THE SKY TURNED PINK

On May 10, 2024, one of the strongest solar storms in decades pushed the northern lights all the way down to Utah. From the farm, the whole northern sky glowed magenta and green.

We can't promise you an aurora. Nights like that are rare this far south. But when one comes, a dark spot with an open view to the north is exactly where you want to be.

PLAN YOUR NIGHT UNDER THE STARS

Frequently Asked Questions

The bright core of the Milky Way is up in the evening from late spring through early fall, and it's highest in summer. Plan around the moon: the darkest nights fall within a few days of the new moon. A bright moon washes out all but the brightest stars.

RESERVE YOUR NIGHT UNDER THE STARS
